Good ness of veggies and paneer not only make this dish healthy and also delicious. Long back learnt this recipe from a friend, am personally fond of this dish not only for the liking towards veggies but also less spicy and it’s unique seasoning ingredients flavour. Seasoning ingredients include cumin, Saunf, mustard,kalonji and fenugreek seeds. This gives special taste to the dish.

* kalonji also known as black cumin is a very popular spice in every kitchen. In English, it is called fennel flower, black caraway, nutmeg flower, Roman coriander. It is a flavorful spice that has its own sweet and nutty flavor.


Cabbage – 250 gms
Potato – 2 medium

Ginger- 1 inch piece
Carrot – 2

Onion chopped 1 ( optional)

Cottage cheese/ paneer – 200 gms
Beans/ green peas – handful

Coriander leaves for garnish

Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp

Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Kasoori methi – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida pinch


Fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp

Fennel seeds- 1 tsp

Kalonji – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Cabbage and beans chopped
Seasoning…… mustard, fennel, kalonji, cumin, fenugreek… kasoori methi

Paneer making at home…

Boil milk and curdled with venigar & lemon.
Strain it
Wrap in a muslin cloth & keep weight on it
After 4 టో 5 hours cut in to desired shapes
Homemade paneer


1. Chop all veggies in desired shapes. Peel n chop potatoes and dip in salt water. Grate ginger.

2. Heat 2 tbsp oil. Add all seasoning seeds. Add grated ginger. Add pinch of asafoetida.

3. Add potato pieces. Cook for a while.

4. Add remaining veggies. Cook well with lid.

5. Remove lid and fry until it’s done. Add paneer n mix gently.

6. Sprinkle coriander leaves.

7. Serve hot with roti.
